Selling on eBay takes some effort as does anything that you could do to make money online. But anybody can make money with eBay with a little due diligence and some keen insight from other sellers selling the same items.
Odds are someone will be selling the same item as you at some point in time. I search the completed auctions and find who got the most money for my item. Then, I try to provide just a little more value than they did. This is key tothe success of my eBay home business and in helping me make money with eBay selling.
If you really want to make money with eBay, that is just the beginning!
- I also see if there is a pattern of eBay sellers selling items at a fixed price or as a regular auction item. I have found that there is usually no reason to sell at a fixed price for most auctions. You can safely assume that you auction is going to end somewhere around the average price of recently completed auctions for the same item. I usually find that I end on the higher end of the bidding if I take some key elements from some top completed auctions and add my own special flavor to it it helps me a lot as I work to make money with eBay.
- Immediately upon completion of my auction I send an invoice to the winner. This especially is helpful if someone wants to checkout right away. If I am a bit slow, I find people will checkout anyway. Years ago, they would wait for invoices but buyer’s are more keen today and checkout on eBay is much easier.
- Also, be sure to let the winning bidder know when you will be shipping their item and then let them know when you have actually shipped. This is key to getting some great positive feedback and saves you both a few emails in the long run. Any communication with your winning bidder is better than none at all! Good communication is something that the top eBay sellers focus on to make money with eBay.
- Make sure you take good quality photos of your items. You don’t need a great camera for this. Just a good back drop and make sure that your lighting and/or flash does not flood the image. You want people to see the item in it’s entirety and you want them to feel like they have a real good idea of the condition the item is in. A good photo or set of photos can go a long way towards selling your item for top dollar and helping you make money with eBay.
- Be very clear about your shipping options and how long after the auction ends until you will be able to ship the item. Winning bidders are impatient and want their items yesterday. Making sure that all of your shipping details are covered and accurate is key to having a smooth transaction on eBay.
- Be sure to check your emails at least daily during the first few days of the auction. On the last day, you will need to check more often. Especially during the last hour. You do not want to miss the opportunity for someone to bid your item higher just because you did not get back them before your auction ended. This one tip can help you big time in your quest to make money with eBay!
These are just a few of the things that you should be doing if you want to earn money and make money with eBay.
These few tips alone can make your first few auctions go so much smoother than they could go and can go a long way to help you make money with eBay. Good luck and good selling! With some effort, you CAN make money with eBay!
